Energy Master Plan Hearing and Rally – August 8

New Jersey is in the middle of a climate emergency and we need you to take action now!

NJ’s long awaited draft Energy Master Plan has been released. This document is supposed to be the blueprint to get NJ to 100% clean energy by 2050. There are some good, some bad, some ugly, and mostly a lot of unanswered questions about our energy future that have to get answered ASAP! New Jersey has tremendous opportunity to be a national leader on renewable energy, but it is not going to happen if we don’t ask, and if we don’t fight for it.

The next public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, August 8th in Newark at the Larson Auditorium at Seton Hall Law School, One Newark Center. We want to have a strong showing of people at this hearing to make sure NJBPU, NJDEP, and the Governor’s office hear us loud and clear. We are not fooled by “carbon neutral” gimmicks, and we are not interested in continuing our reliance on polluting fossil fuels. We need to get off using fossil fuels, and we need to do it quickly.

Please sign up through the NJ Board of Public Utilities to testify: https://www.nj.gov/emp/get/ (Scroll to bottom of page for sign up). Then let us know you will be there: https://forms.gle/LeEvkPKp7EGMxg6J8

We will also be hosting a rally between the afternoon and evening sessions featuring diverse local voices, public officials, and members of the Empower NJ coalition. Everyone is welcome to the rally whether they testify or not. Hope you can join us!
