March for a Fossil Fuel Moratorium – September 16 in Bordentown

New Jersey is ground zero for climate emergency — higher temperatures than other states, and an imminent  test of Gov. Murphy’s clean energy commitment with the first frack-gas project pipeline under his watch about to launch final construction phrase – we have to stop it before it’s too late. March with us, in support of a stay on construction of the Southern Reliability Link Pipeline and in favor of a moratorium on all new fossil fuel projects!

On the final day for public comments on New Jersey’s draft Energy Master Plan, we will march from Bordentown, NJ (near SRL pipeline construction) to Trenton (where our key decision makers work). We are demanding a halt on SRL pipeline construction and an immediate moratorium on all new fossil fuel projects in NJ.

Who: Anyone and everyone who wants a moratorium now on all new fossil fuel infrastructure

What: We are marching for a fossil fuel moratorium from the area of SRL pipeline currently under construction to our decision makers in Trenton

When: Monday, September 16th, 10am – 3pm

Where: Starting at 280 Crosswicks Rd, Bordentown, NJ 08505

Logistics:
– We plan to meet in Bordentown at 10:00 AM, where we will have bathroom access, some stretches and a couple of quick announcements before stepping off around 10:30 am. The route from Bordentown to Trenton is approximately 9 miles and will take about five to six hours to complete. Our walk will end at the NJ State House Annex with others that are unable to walk for a short rally. Final logistics for getting walkers back to start point and cars are still in the works, stay tuned.

– For our walkers, come prepared with everything you need for a 9 mile walk, comfortable clothing, snacks / pack-able lunch, refillable water bottles

– We are hoping for cooperating weather, but we are holding September 18th open just in case we need a rain date.
