NJ Transit not content to delay trains; now wants to delay progress against climate change

As if one proposed power plant in the Meadowlands was not enough, now NJ Transit wants to get in on the action by building ANOTHER power plant in the region, in Kearny. They have proposed a 104-140 MW plant that will run 24/7, and be one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions in the state.

This announcement comes one week after Governor Murphy’s administration released an Energy Master Plan that is silent on eliminating gas plants, and after seven NJ legislators came out in support of a moratorium on all new fossil fuel projects. Read more in this article at northjersey.com.
