Despite the growing urgency of our inter-twined climate and public health crises, the fossil fuel industry continues their reckless expansion plans in NJ.
With this latest fossil fuel project, Tennessee Gas Pipeline company is proposing to expand their fracked gas pipeline through the protected Highlands region, an ecological treasure which provides more than half of our residents with clean, affordable drinking water. This would send even more fracked gas at higher pressures through an aging 65-year-old pipeline that runs through dozens of NJ communities and water bodies, all to deliver more dirty fuels to NY. The project serves no benefit for NJ and is completely antithetical with NY’s clean energy goals.
The company is applying for an exemption from the NJ Highlands Act, and Governor Murphy must do his job by instructing his DEP to reject this permit.
Send a public comment to Governor Murphy, the NJDEP and the NJ Highlands Council urging them to reject the TN Gas Pipeline East 300 Upgrade!
