In response to the deepening climate emergency and our growing calls for action, new legislation in New Jersey (S2978/A4658) has been introduced with the stated goal of achieving 100% clean electricity by 2035. This bill can be a huge step forward in our fights against climate change and environmental injustice.  However, the fossil fuel industry and its allies are working hard waging a lobbying and misinformation campaign to try and win expensive new subsidies in the bill for more dirty energy.  We expect this bill will be prioritized shortly after election day, so we need our elected officials to hear from us loud and clear.

Will you join EmpowerNJ at our state capitol on 11/20 for a BIG rally and lobby day for 100% truly clean energy by 2035?

Dirty energy technologies like trash incineration, burning/non-fuel cell hydrogen, carbon capture, and mis-named RNG have no place in a 100% clean electricity future. They would perpetuate the use of fossil fuels while further polluting our air and increasing ratepayer costs at a time when energy bills are already very high. New Jersey needs legislation that adheres to our State’s climate and environmental justice policies and delivers the clean energy future we urgently need.
